Hairdo Cult
When what your hair looks like...counts
When what your hair looks like...counts
My aims for this ongoing series of busts is to playfully depict the characters we are, our hairstyles our expression of our identities. We are different in many ways, our personalities and attire readable to others. We are much more than our hair, however, as indicated by each face, seen almost as through a distorted mirror.
This is a selection from the range which is an ongoing series.
I use porcelain and build by coiling each head from the bottom up. The bases are built separately, patterned and glazed then attached permanently.
Size ranges through 800 - 850 cm. tall
Hairdo Cult members and other works will be available for viewing and purchase at the
Frances Keevil Gallery
